Most clients require a series of 4–8 treatments spaced two to four weeks apart, depending on acne severity and skin response. Your clinician will assess progress and tailor the schedule for optimal clearance while minimizing irritation and downtime.

IPL is effective for many skin types but suitability depends on skin tone and acne type. A consultation and test patch determine safety settings; darker skin may require adjusted parameters or alternative treatments to avoid pigmentation risks.

Most patients feel mild warming or tingling during treatment with minimal discomfort. Downtime is typically low—temporary redness or sensitivity may occur, usually resolving within hours to a few days with proper aftercare and sun protection.

IPL primarily targets active acne and inflammation, but it can improve post-inflammatory redness, pigmentation, and overall texture. For deeper scarring, combine with microneedling, chemical peels, or laser resurfacing; your clinician will recommend the best combined approach.

Avoid retinoids, strong acids, and excessive sun exposure for at least one week. Arrive with clean skin free of makeup and topicals. Inform your provider of medications, prior treatments, and any recent tanning to ensure safe, effective settings.

Some improvement appears within days as inflammation subsides, but significant clearing usually requires several sessions. Most clients notice progressive reduction in breakouts and smoother skin after two to three treatments, with optimal results following the full recommended series.
